Established organization is hiring for an In Person Cal OSHA Training Director on a Direct Hire Basis. Overall, the Training Director for Cal/OSHA programs plays a crucial role in ensuring that employees receive the necessary training to maintain a safe and compliant work environment, reduce workplace accidents and injuries, and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance. Pay range DOE: $130-140k

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and designing training programs specifically tailored to Cal/OSHA regulations and requirements. These programs may cover topics such as workplace safety, hazard communication, emergency preparedness, and ergonomics.
  • Ensuring that all training programs meet Cal/OSHA standards and regulations, as well as any other relevant federal or state regulations. This includes staying up-to-date with changes in regulations and updating training materials as needed.
  • Overseeing the delivery of training programs to employees at various levels within the organization. This may involve conducting training sessions in person, virtually, or through online platforms.
  • Developing and implementing methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, such as conducting post-training assessments, surveys, or performance evaluations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of training activities, including attendance records, completion certificates, and training materials. Ensuring compliance with recordkeeping requirements set forth by Cal/OSHA.
  • Conducting assessments to identify training needs within the organization related to Cal/OSHA requirements. Developing strategies to address identified gaps and ensure that employees receive the necessary training to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Coordinating logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, securing training facilities, arranging for trainers or instructors, and managing training resources and materials.
  • Collaborating with other departments or teams within the organization to coordinate training efforts and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Communicating with stakeholders to provide updates on training initiatives and promote participation.
  • Keeping abreast of any changes or updates to Cal/OSHA regulations and ensuring that training programs are updated accordingly. This may involve attending seminars, conferences, or professional development opportunities related to workplace safety and compliance.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree AND teaching credential is required for this role. Additional certificates such as CSP are a plus.
  • Significant experience training on Cal OSHA regulations to different levels of employees.
  • A thorough understanding of Cal/OSHA regulations and standards is essential for a Training Director. This includes knowledge of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), which outlines workplace safety and health regulations in California.
  • Experience in developing and delivering occupational safety and health training programs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills are important for overseeing training programs, managing staff, and ensuring the effective delivery of training services.
  • Knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations, familiarity with other regulatory requirements related to workplace safety and health, such as federal OSHA standards and environmental regulations are a must.
