Job Title: General Liability Claims Adjuster

Employment Type: Temporary (Approx. 4 months with possible extension)
Pay: $35-$40/hr. DOE
Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Liability Claims Adjuster with a strong background in bodily injury claims to manage a portfolio of commercial liability and auto exposures. This role is responsible for overseeing claims from intake through resolution, ensuring timely, cost-effective outcomes while delivering exceptional service.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience handling complex bodily injury claims, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and litigation oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of commercial general liability and auto claims, with a strong focus on bodily injury exposures
- Conduct detailed investigations of bodily injury claims, including liability determination, damages assessment, and coverage analysis
- Evaluate injury severity, medical documentation, and treatment plans to determine appropriate claim value and reserves
- Set and adjust claim reserves based on ongoing analysis and case developments
- Negotiate and resolve bodily injury claims, including moderate to complex cases
- Manage claims through the full lifecycle, including litigation, mediation, arbitration, and settlement
- Partner with defense counsel and medical experts to develop effective litigation strategies
- Draft and issue high-quality written communications, including:
- Coverage evaluations and reports
- Reservation of Rights letters
- Disclaimers and settlement documentation
- Serve as a client-facing claims manager for assigned accounts
- Communicate effectively with clients, claimants, attorneys, carriers, and vendors
- Maintain compliance with internal systems, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of claims handling experience with a strong emphasis on bodily injury claims (general liability and/or auto liability)
- Proven experience evaluating and resolving bodily injury claims, including understanding medical terminology and injury valuation
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate bodily injury settlements within authority limits
- Experience managing litigated bodily injury claims and working with defense counsel
- Strong knowledge of liability analysis, coverage interpretation, and claims best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service and client management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom)
