Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Engineering Manager to join a client in Grapevine, TX. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.

The Engineering Manager will lead and oversee the daily operations of a high-performing engineering team, ensuring projects, products, and processes align with company objectives. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and operational excellence to drive innovation, quality, and on-time delivery across engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership & Supervision

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard engineering talent
  • Manage day-to-day departmental workflows and resource allocation
  • Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations
  • Address employee performance issues, including discipline and terminations, in alignment with company policies

Technical & Operational Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities across quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development for new and existing product lines
  • Serve as project manager for multiple concurrent initiatives, developing timelines, budgets, and cost projections
  • Ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budgetary requirements
  • Review engineering work for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Facilitate clear communication between clients, customers, and engineering teams to ensure requirements, scope, and expectations are well understood

Strategy, Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Develop, manage, and execute the engineering department budget
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors and partners
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, industry trends, and best practices, applying insights to improve product quality and production efficiency
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational goals

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong foundation in engineering theory, design principles, applied mathematics, and physics
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire high performance

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership or management responsibilities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
