Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Lead Plumbing Engineer to join our client's team in Sacramento, California. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a skilled engineering professional to lead the design and execution of plumbing systems across multiple commercial projects.
Position Overview
The Lead Plumbing Engineer will independently manage engineering services from conceptual design through construction completion. This role requires strong technical expertise in plumbing systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, coordination, and execution with minimal oversight
- Independently develop conceptual designs and construction drawings for multiple small to medium-sized projects
- Ensure designs meet Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards
- Perform plumbing calculations and design layouts for equipment and systems
- Apply knowledge of gas piping, waste and vent systems, domestic water distribution, and kitchen plumbing
- Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, Service departments, and trade partners
- Conduct economic and energy analyses
- Support field engineering activities including trade coordination, scheduling, and troubleshooting
- Maintain high quality standards for design drawings and models
- Mentor and oversee other design team members as needed
- Ensure adherence to company engineering standards and project execution processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable
- Minimum 3 years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultant
- Strong understanding of engineering and design fundamentals
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 20 lbs occasionally
- Close and distance vision required
- Ability to hear and respond to phone calls
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and communicate clearly
- Must maintain regular attendance and be a responsible team member
Work Hours
- Monday through Friday
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Includes one-hour lunch and two rest breaks
- Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs
Compensation
- Salary Range: $93,000 - $120,000 annually
- Additional benefits will be discussed during the interview process
