Job Description

Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit formal quotations in a timely manner.
Prepares cost estimates with detailed itemized budgets based on customer documents, specifications, and production requirements.
Analyze customer RFQs and technical drawings to develop accurate cost estimates to include the following:
Reading and analyzing document specifications, CAD drawings, 2D drawings/blueprints, and bills of material to determine required processes in the product life cycle.
Analyze customer requirements to determine make vs buy, the need for outside vendor processes, or the need for subcontractors.
Work with ERP systems, excel or other estimating platforms to develop consistent cost estimates and draft quote proposals.
Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools.
Actively collaborate with customers, suppliers, engineers, or other individuals (internal or external) to discuss/identify best fabrication practices with the intent of providing optimal cost estimates for production and customers.
Determine material, labor, tooling, and processing requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
Sends RFQ's out to vendors/suppliers for cost estimates.
Responsible for updates in the RFQ Log as required.
Collaborate with the Business Development Team and Customer Account Management Team to provide clear, concise quote proposals to new and existing customers with added exception notes to the proposal considering non-recurring engineering charge fees, fixture costs/budgets, tooling costs/budgets, freight expenses (if any), and deviations from the print.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts of the RFQ and Estimating process to help drive for KPI results.
Other duties may be assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree, preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in an estimating or fabrication environment of sheet metal and CNC machining.
Must understand Geometric tolerancing
Good oral and written communication skills.
Must understand and practice good AS9100D habits. Documentation has to follow procedures. And understand processes.
Must understand the processes and in what order they are done in, i.e, HT, processing, Grinding, NDT and plating or painting, Roughing and Finishing. How they affect one another.
Working knowledge of ITAR, DFARS, and NADCAP requirements.
Familiar with AS9100 standards and CMMC certifications.
