Summary:
Performs precision welding using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) processes to join, fabricate, and repair metal components. Ensures welds meet specified codes and blueprints with high quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to join various metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
Inspect materials and finished welds for defects using visual and measurement tools.
Maintain proper weld parameters including amperage, voltage, and gas flow rates.
Prepare materials by grinding, cleaning, and fitting parts for welding.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
Collaborate with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to complete projects on schedule.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a TIG welder or in a similar welding role.
Strong understanding of welding techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Attention to detail and precision in weld quality.
Certification or training in TIG welding preferred (e.g., AWS, ASME).
