Based in Chandler, AZ, this role is an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded professional looking to build or accelerate their career in supply chain and technical procurement.
As a Purchasing & Logistics Specialist, you will support high-demand product categories for multinational manufacturers in regulated industries. You'll coordinate purchasing activities, collaborate closely with suppliers, and ensure inventory levels align with both operational and customer demand.
This position offers direct exposure to real-world procurement strategy, vendor negotiations, and logistics optimization-ideal for those with a degree in Supply Chain, Business Operations, Finance, or Industrial Distribution looking to develop strong professional footing in a high-performance supply chain environment.
Monitor assigned product categories to support accurate forecasting and purchasing strategy.
Maintain healthy stock levels while avoiding excess inventory or stockouts.
Create, issue, and follow up on purchase orders; confirm lead times and delivery schedules.
Analyze sales trends, consumption data, and warehouse thresholds to recommend purchasing actions.
Identify and clear slow-moving inventory across warehouse locations.
Support warehouse layout optimization to increase storage efficiency.
Track deadlines and ensure deliverables meet internal and client expectations.
Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships and monitor vendor KPIs.
Assist with cost-reduction initiatives and procurement process improvements.
Ensure quality compliance standards are adhered to across all orders.
Perform procurement-related administrative tasks, including PO updates and discrepancy investigations.
Resolve shipping or invoicing variances with suppliers and internal teams.
Apply logistics insight to choose optimal inbound freight methods.
Expedite high-priority purchase orders when required to meet customer timelines.
2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain planning, or logistics coordination.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or related field preferred.
Strong administrative and organizational skills with ownership mentality.
Skilled in vendor communication and negotiation.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP platforms (SAP or similar a plus).
Able to analyze data trends and act decisively in a distribution environment.
Adaptable, proactive, and process-improvement focused.
Thrives in high-volume, fast-paced operations with competing priorities.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and analysis.
