JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the seamless integration of day-to-day workflow activities in all departments of our Hayward, California distribution center while establishing a positive culture and actively seeking to develop, improve and innovate their team and department. Oversight includes responsibility for all critical issues of the distribution center that affect overall center performance.Â

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations Management Manage, implement, and oversee adherence to policies and proceduresMaintain compliance with all policies and regulationsMonitor field operationsEnsure scope of work and deadlines are met in a timely manner Troubleshoot disruptions in the daily flow of operations activitiesProvides cover and backup support to administrative representatives with order entry and customer inquiriesManages daily reconciliation of invoices, cash and bank depositsResponsible for daily, weekly, quarterly and annual reportingSupport the sales process and market growth by expanding services, preparing inventory reports, processing orders, maintaining all required literature, maintaining and upgrading selling skills and product knowledge, providing customer follow-up, gathering sales leadsManages necessary asset service and maintenance activitiesManages and oversees inventory, and maintains showroom and warehouse appearanceDevelop, analyze and manage sales & operations performanceResponsible for managing P&L goals and objectives for the site location. Control costs and monitor fiscal performance compared to budgetMaintain a detailed daily documentation of company activityMeet with senior management regularly to report summary of all distribution center activities

Personnel ManagementManage all levels of the hiring process including recruitment, onboarding, orientationPrepares schedules, manages work hours and approves overtime in timekeeping systemResponsible for maintaining hours within established budgetDistribute, collect and archive employee related paperwork Assess training needs of staff, train or instruct employees, or arrange for training to be providedEnsure any injury or accident is reported immediately, and investigated promptlyCollaborate with workers and supervisors to solve work-related problemsManage and ensure department cohesiveness and cooperationLead, coach and mentor employees verbally and in writing; this including positive motivation and performance evaluation, coaching, providing regular feedback, communication of goals, disciplining, leading regular staff meetings and callsListen, annotate, discuss work related problems or grievances with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Bilingual English Spanish required Experience in supply chain management, OSHA practices, and Food Safety training is highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, experience in lieu of education considered Demonstrable experience in managing a supply chain organization.Strong leadership skills including oral & written communication and interpersonal relations Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
