Front Desk Receptionist

Location: Sparks, MD (position is fully onsite, 5 days a week)
Compensation: $50,000 (depending on experience)

Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and welcoming Front Desk Receptionist. This role requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, along with a positive, professional demeanor. As the first point of contact for visitors and callers, the Receptionist provides an excellent impression of our office while supporting a variety of administrative and operational functions.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls, manage voicemails, and take accurate messages.
  • Greet and assist visitors with a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail; prepare outgoing mail and coordinate shipping services (FedEx, UPS, USPS).
  • Maintain office supply and kitchen inventory, restock as needed.
  • Keep reception, lunchroom, and common areas clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Assist with meeting preparation, including conference room setup and food ordering.
  • Coordinate food and supply deliveries; occasional pick-ups with mileage reimbursement.
  • Send office-wide announcements via Teams or Outlook.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Operations Manager and other staff.
  • Assist with seasonal/holiday office upkeep and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a receptionist, administrative, or office support role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, customer service-oriented demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being a proactive and collaborative team player.
  • Flexible, dependable, and adaptable to changing business needs.
