Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive equipment parts orders via telephone or in-person interactions
  • Assist customers in accurately identifying the required part(s)
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of orders
  • Communicate promptly with customers in case of any delays in receiving ordered parts
  • Manage desk-based tasks, including answering calls, referencing online catalogs for part lookup, and processing orders (95% of the role)
  • Dedicate 5% of the role to assisting with inventory-related tasks
  • Demonstrate a highly professional customer service attitude
  • Collaborate actively with customers to resolve problems and see through to appropriate solutions
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in terms of dress, speech, and behavior
  • Execute assigned tasks as directed by management
  • Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures
  • Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures


  • Essential basic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with component terminology is a plus
  • Preferably, a minimum of one year of parts ordering experience, with a preference for the heavy equipment industry; Service Tech experience is accepted
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with construction equipment components and terminology related to mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as various major body components
  • Familiarity with parts reference sources such as manufacturer manuals, books, microfiche, internet, and the ability to effectively use these materials for accurate parts ordering
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry parts weighing up to 75 lbs.

Additional Information:

  • Pay Range: $24-28/hr. - Depending on experience
  • Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7am - 5pm (8-hour shift in that timeframe)
  • Type: Contract to hire
