Job Description

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at handling a wide range of HR functions while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Duties Include -

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, retirement plans, leave management, worker's compensation, unemployment claims, and COBRA.
  • Ensure all personnel files remain current and conduct regular audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing HR compliance policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the HR Director on departmental projects such as handbook updates, job descriptions, training programs, and competency frameworks.
  • Collect and prepare data for EEO and ACA reporting on an annual basis.
  • Provide recruitment and onboarding support, serving as a back-up to the HR Specialist.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring return/assignment of equipment, uniforms, and system access.
  • Co-chair the Safety Committee and contribute to workplace safety initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic HR compliance audits and provide timely reports to leadership.

Qualifications Include -

  • At least 4 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, ideally in healthcare or nonprofit settings.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits administration and employee health plans.
  • Solid knowledge of California labor laws.
