Job Description

We're seeking a highly organized and professional Insurance Recovery Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Portsmouth, NH. This full-time role offers $24-$26/hr, Monday through Friday, and transitions to a hybrid schedule after 90 days (3 days in-office, 2 remote).

This position is ideal for candidates with a background in legal support, insurance, or administrative roles who are ready to apply their skills in a fast-paced claims recovery environment. Subrogation or auto insurance experience is a plus-but not required.

Hybrid Schedule: Eligible after 90 days (3 days in-office / 2 remote)

About the Role:

You'll manage subrogation cases for insurance carriers by negotiating with adverse carriers, gathering evidence, and filing claims through Arbitration Forums (AFs). Strong administrative, communication, and documentation skills are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with insurance carriers, client contacts, and Arbitration Forums via phone and email
  • Review case files and identify relevant documents to support recovery efforts
  • Negotiate payments with adverse carriers based on documentation and claim evidence
  • Track and manage subrogation files through resolution, escalating unresolved cases to arbitration as needed
  • Prepare and submit arbitration claims, including writing professional contentions
  • Maintain organized records and meet strict internal and external deadlines
  • Participate in ongoing training on subrogation procedures, insurance law, and claims best practices
  • Take on additional administrative and support tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional administrative experience required, ideally in legal, insurance, or claims environments
  • Experience in subrogation or auto insurance is helpful but not required
  • Strong writing, organization, and documentation skills
  • Comfortable analyzing documents and presenting information clearly
  • Confident negotiator and effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Dependable and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Proficient in computer systems and basic math
  • Coachable, adaptable, and open to continuous learning

Education:

  • High School Diploma required
  • College degree preferred
