Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement activities and ensure efficient purchasing operations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities to manage vendor relationships and a team of buyers. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing procurement, especially in power transmission components, machine tooling, and raw materials.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage and evaluate employee performance within the purchasing department
Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and suppliers
Place and track purchase orders for required materials and components
Maintain adequate stock levels for essential inventory items
Collaborate with the Shipping & Receiving department to track and locate incoming orders
Promote a proactive and self-motivated team environment
Ensure timely procurement to support production schedules
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Familiarity with Superdos OS is a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience as a buyer or purchasing manager in a manufacturing setting
Proven experience in purchasing power transmission products such as conveyor, electrical, and hydraulic components
Experience sourcing tooling and spare parts for machine shops
Background in buying raw materials
Demonstrated experience managing a purchasing or procurement team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Highly organized and punctual with a self-starter mindset
