Drug & Alcohol Test Collector

Location: Hamden, CT
Schedule: Monday?-?Friday, 6?am?-?2?pm EST (base schedule); training Week?1: 8:30?am-5?pm; Weeks?2-3: 6?am-4?pm (with ride-alongs).
Compensation: $21/hour + Overtime & On-call Pay
On-call: One weekly weekday; weekend rotation once/month.


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Drug & Alcohol Test Collector (male) to join our team in Hamden, CT. You'll perform regulated urine, breath, and hair collections-primarily from male donors-while ensuring strict adherence to DOT and Psychemedics testing protocols. This role requires driving a company vehicle to client sites, conducting on-site testing, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and privacy.


Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicle to client locations daily.

  • Conduct urine collections per DOT guidelines (including direct observation and optional oral swabs).

  • Administer breath-alcohol testing using DOT-approved equipment.

  • Perform hair sampling following Psychemedics protocols.

  • Occasionally assist with other testing formats as needed.

  • Maintain organized records, provide excellent client interactions, and report any irregularities.

  • Be on-call one day per week and part of a weekend rotation (~once/month).


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to obtain DOT Urine Specimen Collector certification within 2 weeks.

  • Ability to obtain DOT Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) certification within 2 weeks.

  • Comfortable driving and sitting in a box truck (up to 23 ft)-training provided.


Physical & Language Requirements

  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, listening).

  • Must be able to:

    • Talk, listen, walk, stand, sit, reach, lift up to 30 lbs, climb stairs.

    • Sit and drive for extended periods.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $21/hr + overtime and on-call pay as needed.
