R&D Lab Technician
Location: Scripps Ranch, CA 92131
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Pay: $28 - $34/hr DOE

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an R&D Laboratory Technician position. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily activities to support the R&D Department. Responsibilities include conducting verification testing, assembling associated test fixtures and prototype assemblies, producing documentation such as test plans, procedures and reports.
Job Duties:
· Implement Engineering Lab upgrades and conduct general day-to-day upkeep.
· Ensure that safe lab practices are employed, and good housekeeping is maintained.
· Create test plans, procedures and reports associated with design verification activities.
· Data collection, manipulation and analysis, using common statistical methods.
· Provide preliminary interpretation of results and present appropriate conclusions in a clear and concise format.
· Conduct verification testing on a variety of mechanical, chemical and electronic components in accordance with written and/or verbal instructions from Senior Team members.
· Design and construct test fixtures and setups associated with design verification activities.
· Diagnose product problems using a methodical approach and clearly communicate findings to team members.
· Maintain complex test equipment, including scheduling necessary calibration and preventative maintenance.
· Provide regular status reports on assigned tasks.
· Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
· Minimum associate's degree in engineering, math, related field of science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering lab & product development environment.
· Have the desire to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment. - Working knowledge of electromechanical components.
· Hands-on skills using test equipment and common power tools.
· Ability to make sound technical decisions and complete tasks with limited supervision.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Experienced with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other office productivity software.
