Workers' Compensation
Manage Workers' Compensation claims in coordination with a third-party administrator
Ensure timely communication and strong account management practices
Return-to-Work Program
Oversee the Return-to-Work process, including coordinating Interactive Process Meetings
Ensure all procedures align with legal and company requirements
Leave of Absence Management
Administer and track non-industrial leaves (e.g., maternity, medical)
Ensure compliance with ADA, FMLA, FEHA, CFRA, PDL, and related regulations
Insurance Compliance
Manage the City's annual insurance application process
Prepare required documentation and ensure compliance with all requirements
Labor Relations
Work within a unionized environment and support labor-related processes and procedures
Technology & Communication Tools
Use Canva to create clear, visually effective materials for trainings and presentations
Track and manage projects using tools like Monday.com
General HR Support
Support recruitment efforts and assist with writing policies
Help drive HR initiatives and contribute to broader departmental goals
Experience
Minimum of 2 years in risk management or a related HR function
Experience handling Workers' Compensation, leave administration, or general liability preferred
Experience leading projects or in a lead/supervisory role is a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Legal Studies, Law, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
Master's degree is a plus
