Job Description

Duties:

  • Collaborate with land developers, the Contracts Manager, Director of Real Estate, landowners, and external vendors to support real estate project needs
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking worksheets and status logs for assigned land acquisition projects
  • Analyze title documents to identify and resolve encumbrances; ensure proper recording with county authorities
  • Coordinate with the Landowner Payment Specialist to manage and process payments for assigned projects
  • Review surveys to identify boundary issues and confirm project footprints
  • Support the resolution of objections or complications related to land acquisition
  • Communicate project updates and land-related issues between Project Managers and the Real Estate department
  • Facilitate parcel closings by coordinating with title companies and landowners under guidance of the Director of Real Estate
  • Respond to due diligence inquiries with oversight from the Director of Real Estate
  • Input and manage real estate budget data for assigned development projects
  • Ensure all real estate documentation is properly uploaded and maintained in designated project data sites
  • Assist in transitioning projects from the Real Estate department to the Operations department when development milestones are met
  • Prepare and distribute crop and construction notices in coordination with the Director of Real Estate and Project Manager
  • Calculate and initiate landowner payments during construction and development phases in collaboration with the Landowner Payment Specialist
  • Keep Development and Real Estate team members informed of project status and land-related developments
  • Confirm CRP or other government program participation of project parcels with local FSA offices
  • Order and review mineral assessments; initiate full mineral searches and resolve mineral interest issues as needed to ensure title coverage
  • Participate in project-specific and regional planning meetings

Requirements:

  • 5+ years as an Abstractor, Examinger, Land & Title Specialist, or similar
  • Notary Public or willingness to obtain
  • Willing to be a team player and learn new work tools
  • High School diploma or GED; college degree a plus
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel software

Additional Info:

  • Pay range: $75,000 - $105,000 depending on experience level + full benefits package
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm with a 1 hour lunch - some flexibility available
  • Location: In office in Bloomington, MN (will discuss flexibility terms)
  • Type: open to direct hire and temp to hire on permanent
