About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Planner to join our growing team in Valencia, CA. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in coordinating production activities, ensuring material availability, and supporting the flow of operations from order receipt through manufacturing completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review open sales orders to assess customer requirements and align production schedules accordingly.
- Coordinate timely delivery of parts to ensure material availability for scheduled production.
- Expedite supplier purchase orders when necessary to support purchasing functions.
- Utilize ERP systems to generate and manage manufacturing work orders.
- Maintain accurate ERP data through cleansing and data management activities.
- Release work orders to the warehouse and ensure proper kit picking.
- Communicate and resolve material shortages between the warehouse and purchasing departments.
- Notify Sales of any potential delays or impacts to customer schedules.
- Expedite manufacturing builds and coordinate schedules to meet production targets.
- Prepare and maintain reports on production progress, material inventory, and customer status.
- Exercise judgment within established policies and procedures to determine best course of action.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of production planning experience in a related manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficient in computer systems and software; ERP or MRP software experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of production and processing methods, including raw materials, quality control, and cost efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
