Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Electromechanical Assembler to join a client in Rancho Cordova. This is a temp-to-hire position. Hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with overtime on Saturdays as needed.
The Electromechanical Assembler performs a variety of semi-skilled electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks. Responsibilities include assembling units such as power supplies, cable harnesses, PC boards, and electronic systems using hand tools, soldering equipment, and basic test instruments. This role involves both through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT) soldering.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical components following production drawings, schematics, work instructions, and verbal guidance.
- Solder and de-solder through-hole and SMT components using soldering irons and hot air tools.
- Install and remove discrete components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors) on PCAs and panels.
- Perform wire routing and connect components to terminals, contact points, and connectors.
- Use jigs, fixtures, and hand tools to position, align, and secure parts in place.
- Conduct basic testing and inspections using voltmeters and go/no-go testing procedures.
- Perform tasks such as potting, epoxy bonding, cleaning, and color coding of parts and assemblies.
- Trim or adjust components to meet required specifications.
- Work under a microscope when necessary for detailed inspection and soldering.
- Record production data accurately on logs, forms, and other documentation.
- Follow safety and cleanliness protocols, including handling hazardous materials.
- Identify and rework defective assemblies or components.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of experience in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly, or equivalent technical/vocational training.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with electronic schematics and component identification.
- Manual dexterity and comfort working with small components and tools.
- Basic understanding of quality control processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working under a microscope.
- Familiarity with IPC soldering standards.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
