Job Description

A Construction Superintendent is a leader on the construction site, responsible for coordinating and overseeing all on-site activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They manage field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, while also ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

The person in this role will be onsite at a variety of projects throughout California. The client that is hiring for this role primarily supports stores that require refrigeration - like retail.

Night supers manage the subcontractors, safety, and quality control. They are there each night making sure the work areas are open, clean, and safe for customers in the morning when the store reopens.

Day supers manage the schedule day to day, and coordinate with the store management team so we can work together to make projects run smoothly. They also manage safety/compliance/LOTO, and meet with inspectors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Creating project plans, schedules, and budgets, coordinating resources, and overseeing project execution.
  • Team Management: Supervising and managing field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring they are working effectively and efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that all work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Safety Management: Implementing and enforcing safety regulations and protocols on the construction site.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicating with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • Budget Management: Tracking project costs and ensuring that the project stays within the allocated budget.
  • Scheduling and Time Management: Monitoring project schedules and ensuring that milestones are met.
  • Coordination: Coordinating the work of different trades and subcontractors to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Reporting: Providing regular updates to management on project progress and any issues that may arise.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Superintendent experience
