Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location: Jessup
Department: Warehouse/Logistics
Pay - $18.00-$21.00hr
Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating and managing the shipping and receiving activities of the company. This includes preparing and verifying shipments, receiving products, and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials and products. The role is vital in ensuring the efficient flow of goods through the warehouse and ensuring accuracy in inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Shipping:
o Prepare and package outgoing shipments for delivery, ensuring they are secure and properly labeled.
o Generate shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
o Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
o Ensure that all shipping orders are processed in a timely manner.
o Inspect and verify the condition of items before they are shipped.
* Receiving:
o Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of items received.
o Inspect goods for damage and discrepancies, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
o Record and track all incoming inventory in the system.
o Assist with unloading goods from trucks and storing them in the correct location within the warehouse.
o Ensure all received items are properly labeled and organized.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
* Basic understanding of inventory management systems or software.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
