Human Resources Specialist

Location: Round Rock, TX (On-site)
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $30/hour


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Specialist to support the Human Resources function at a well-established mechanical services company in Round Rock, TX. This on-site, temp-to-hire role plays a key part in maintaining HR operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting employees across departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of HR systems, especially ADP Workforce Now.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and manage data in ADP Workforce Now

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire paperwork and exit procedures

  • Administer employee benefits and assist with open enrollment and related communications

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and company policies

  • Assist with payroll preparation and processing by providing necessary employee updates

  • Track time-off requests, FMLA, and other leave programs

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information

  • Provide support to the HR Manager and leadership team as needed


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in an HR Specialist or similar role

  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required

  • Strong understanding of HR functions and best practices

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment

  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
