Job Description

Position Title: Medical Records Specialist

The Medical Records Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely handling of medical documentation. This position is responsible for organizing, managing, and distributing medical records before and after patient services, helping maintain smooth information flow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort, compile, and maintain physical and electronic medical records
  • Digitize documents and integrate them into the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Monitor the full lifecycle of medical records
  • Prepare and dispatch medical records for external use
  • Coordinate documentation required for support services
  • Manage and organize various types of medical media
  • Serve as the liaison between healthcare providers, clients, and departments regarding record status through phone and email
  • Fulfill requests for medical records in a timely and compliant manner

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal database systems
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks and setting priorities
  • Familiarity with general office equipment
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Self-starter who works well independently

Additional Details:

  • Hourly Rate: $19-$20
  • Work Hours: Alternating weekly shifts: 8:30 AM-5:00 PM and 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
  • Work Setting: On-site, in-office position in Golden Valley, MN
