Overview:
We're looking for an experienced Senior Safety Coordinator to take the lead in upholding and promoting a strong safety culture across construction projects. In this role, you'll be instrumental in maintaining compliance with safety regulations at all levels, while also driving safety awareness and accountability within the teams. This position involves regular site visits, hands-on training, risk mitigation, and collaborative problem-solving to ensure everyone goes home safe-every day.
Core Responsibilities:
Oversee and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and internal safety policies across active job sites.
Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to promote awareness and maintain a proactive safety mindset.
Perform routine safety walkthroughs to spot and address hazards before they become issues.
Participate in and support incident investigations, helping to uncover root causes and implement strategies to prevent recurrence.
Guide and mentor crew leaders in developing job hazard analyses tailored to specific tasks.
Monitor daily operations to assess the effectiveness of safety procedures and suggest improvements.
Offer constructive feedback to workers regarding safe work practices, and recognize those who consistently follow safety protocols.
Facilitate safety orientations for new hires and support ongoing safety development for all staff.
Partner with site leadership and subcontractor teams to tackle job-specific safety concerns and ensure cohesive safety planning.
Contribute to the professional growth of junior safety personnel through guidance and on-the-job coaching.
What You'll Need:
A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar field), along with at least 7 years of construction safety experience - OR - 8-10 years of direct experience in a similar role without a degree.
Active OSHA 30 certification and solid knowledge of NFPA 70E standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills-you'll need to be able to influence others and lead by example.
Willingness to travel to various construction sites and work in varying field conditions.
Ability to physically navigate construction environments and conduct in-person safety assessments.
Compensation:
$90,000 - $115,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and qualifications. Additional compensation elements may be offered based on role specifics.
