We are in search of a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Manufacturing client in San Antonio.
Salary range is $90k to $105k depending on experience. Two bonuses annually based on company and personal performance.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for ensuring the consistent quality of all products through strategic planning, detailed inspections, defect investigations, and quality management activities.
This role oversees the entire quality assurance process from new product development to mass production, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
The QA Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supplier quality teams.
DUTIES:
Strategic Planning & Target Setting:
Utilize Hoshin Kanri to set and communicate strategic QA targets across the company.
Policy & Procedure Development:
Develop and update QA policies and procedures to ensure consistency and alignment with quality standards.
New Product Control & Quality Management:
Handle initial control for new products, including SQAM submissions, pilot production, process inspections, and reliability testing.
Coordinate with suppliers and customers for audits, issue resolution, and quality checks during the early production stages.
Customer & Supplier Defect Management:
Lead defect investigations, report on issues, and implement countermeasures for both customers and suppliers.
Investigate defects in-process and set corrective actions to avoid future occurrences.
High-Volume Production Trials:
Oversee HVPT and manage quality during the first three months of SOP with focused inspections.
Inspection Plans & Product Quality Control:
Implement inspection schedules, manage product quality documentation, and make shipment decisions based on quality data.
Ongoing Production Quality Maintenance:
Monitor and improve mass production quality, handle product change control, and ensure customer quality satisfaction and field quality monitoring.
Quality Planning & Raw Material Evaluation:
Develop QA plans, map out short-term and long-term quality goals, and assess raw materials for quality.
Measurement Techniques & Equipment Control:
Enhance measurement techniques (e.g., GR&R) and oversee maintenance and accuracy of measuring tools.
Budget Management:
Plan and monitor the QA budget to align with fiscal goals.
Compliance & Audit Preparation:
Ensure compliance with standards (e.g., TS16949), conduct internal audits, and support external audits.
Customer Compliance & Approval:
Ensure products meet customer requirements, oversee the part approval process, and comply with AIAG guidelines.
Safety & Security:
Adhere to safety and security protocols.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other QA-related tasks as directed by supervisors or management.
