Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Temporary Procurement Specialist to support our Laguna Beach, CA based client. As Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in all aspects of purchasing and ensuring compliance. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Salary: $53 - 74.50 hourly ( DOE)
Responsibilities:
- Receives, reviews, and processes purchase requisitions for departments; verifies compliance with pertinent laws, regulations, codes, and policies.
- Oversees and administers the credit card purchasing program.
- Reviews requisitions and authorizes payment to vendors; coordinates with other departments regarding budget and accounts payable issues.
- Collaborates with departments on procurement needs; assists in writing specifications and makes recommendations for contract awards.
- Prepares bid specifications, ensures open competition, and promotes equal opportunity to bid; negotiates and resolves contract terms, including sensitive and controversial issues.
- Negotiates bid prices, contracts, leases, and rental agreements; prepares contract agreements for professional and other services.
- Ensures that vendors meet organizational needs; establishes and maintains positive vendor relationships; researches and identifies new vendors for products and services; interviews vendors to evaluate offerings and gather information for proposals; educates vendors on purchasing policies and procedures.
- Reviews information for completeness and accuracy, ensuring order parameters are clear; coordinates with department representatives to clarify or obtain additional information.
- Establishes, organizes, and maintains purchasing and vendor-related records, files, lists, forms, and other documentation.
- Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for procurement; recommends and administers policies and procedures.
- Writes, compiles, develops, edits, revises, and produces necessary correspondence, reports, and other materials; inputs accurate and complete information into a computer database.
- Researches sensitive or unusual issues or complaints related to vendors and contract services.
- Monitors changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulations, analyzes their impact, and develops policy and procedural changes accordingly.
- Attends specialized training and meetings to stay current with changes in the field and other relevant areas.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
