Job Description

This position is responsible for the assembly, troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical, assemblies and systems. The ideal candidate for this role has a minimum of 3 years' experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail, has excellent attendance and is committed to workplace safety.

Job Description

· Support company maintenance requirements for machinery, facility, and safety initiatives.

· Maintain proper preventative maintenance schedules and documentation for all shop equipment.

· Support building system maintenance such as machine shop, compressors, tooling, and generators, lighting, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems.

· Upgrade, repair, replace machinery parts and components as needed to maintain equipment.

· Oversee the machinery to make sure it is optimal working condition.

· Assist mechanical assembly with troubleshooting of equipment breakdown and repair.

· Maintain electrical support of the building, ensuring all safety codes are complied with.

· Operates machine shop equipment making repair parts.

· Makes various repairs to shop equipment and does general and finish carpentry.

· Works with gas welding and cutting torches; electric welding on a variety of work.

· Maintains and repairs water, oil, steam, air, and gas lines; fire and water pumping system; fork truck maintenance.

· Diagnoses trouble with machines in plant and makes new parts and reassembles them.

· Reads and interprets blueprints/sketches and creates sketches for new parts.

· Operates machine tools, welding equipment and plumbing tools.

· Completes building, re-building, repair, overhaul, installation and/or removal of new or used, precision or semi-precision machinery and equipment.

· Works with all types of machine tools, hand tools, instruments, rigs, and fixtures common to maintenance trade, including electrical tools, gas and electrical welding equipment, and plumber and pip-fitter equipment.

· Machining and fitting to close tolerances with speed and accuracy.

· Cooperates with machine operators and skilled tradesmen in job duties.

· Employees in the maintenance department are expected to supply their own basic tool kit and will receive an annual tool allowance.

· Works on a variety of machines and equipment in and around plant. Works around several lubricants and chemicals throughout the plant.

· Maintains required housekeeping of work area and observes all safety rules.

· Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
