Overview:

The Account Director manages client relationships and oversees marketing strategies for 6-8 clients. They lead a team of up to 2 strategists, guiding and mentoring to ensure effective project execution and client satisfaction.

Work Classification: Hybrid (Remote on Mondays and Fridays, Onsite in Chanhassen Tuesday - Thursday)

Target Salary: Up to $135K (+ bonus), possibly higher DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic planning and project oversight, mentoring team members and ensuring their development.
  • Delegate tasks to foster team growth and development.
  • Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of clients' products, industry, and brand.
  • Build and sustain positive client relationships; create pitches, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Ensure client requirements and expectations are met, including process alignment, pricing, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate on strategic marketing communication plans with the Director of Account Services and Strategists.
  • Oversee campaign development, from ideation to client approval and performance analysis.
  • Develop creative briefs and manage deliverables to meet client and brand standards.
  • Monitor project financials, manage budgets, and address any concerns promptly.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials, adhering to project scopes and budgets.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 + years of experience in account management within a marketing/advertising agency.
  • Experience managing direct response marketing campaigns; direct mail experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of presenting and selling strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (10-15%, 1-3 trips per year).
