Product Quality Data Analyst
Location: Austin, TX 78703
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days wfh
Pay: $25/hr
Duration: 3-4 months, with a possibility to get extended into 2025 based on performance
An industry leading grocer based in Austin, is seeking a Product Quality Data Analyst Contractor to join their team. This individual will be working with the Exclusive Brands (EB) division and will be responsible for evaluating products and customer feedback data to identify issues and provide improvement recommendations to EB category leaders and technical teams. Analyze customer feedback data to identify product quality issues and trends. Collaborate with Food Safety and Quality teams to troubleshoot root causes during the manufacturing, storage, and distribution of EB products. Summarize product investigation findings and customer sentiment to communicate quality insights with business stakeholders, including product developers and category managers.
Job duties:
· Support investigations into non-conforming and out-of-spec product quality issues in collaboration with EB stakeholders, Food Safety, and Incident Management teams, as well as EB suppliers, for root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
· Analyze customer feedback data to identify product quality deviations and product investigation opportunities.
· Summarize and trend product quality data to determine EB supplier quality performance.
· Review product quality data and improve data management procedures and data visualization.
· Report product quality insight from various PQ programs to EB stakeholders and suppliers.
· Facilitate external product evaluations through compiling product specifications and reviewing third-party test results.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of testing specifications for EB products, as needed.
Qualifications:
* B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Data Science, or related field.
* 1-2 years' experience working in food and/or non-food quality control or assurance department(s) within the retail or food manufacturing packaged goods industry OR in data science/analytics.
* Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and deliver against rapid development timelines.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Ability to make decisions or judgments and know when to seek subject matter expert opinion.
* Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Work).
* Ability to have fun and enable others to have fun while achieving results.
* Sensory evaluation experience and skills preferred.
* Experience with natural and organic foods a plus.
* Experience with specification databases and/or Product Life Cycle Management Systems a plus.
