Certified preferred.
2+ years' as ophthalmic tech; Prefers 3 years' experience.

$25-$27 DEO and credentials/certifications

BACK-OFFICE OPENING DUTIES
* Prepare back-office exam rooms and equipment for patients and doctors.
* Follow-up and complete any paperwork, staff messages and back-office voicemails from previous day/evening.
* Unlock tech station cabinets and drawers, verify exam cleanliness for start of day.

PATIENT EXAMS & GENERAL BACK-OFFICE DAILY DUTIES
* Work-up, pre-test and room patients for doctors.
* Properly document required patient health information of patients into EHR system at time of encounter, following established Company policy. Refer to the EHR Documentation by Department Policy.
* Properly document required patient health information on clinic forms at time of encounter, following established Company policy.
* Assist patients from front to back office to facilitate and maximize patient flow and reduce wait times and increase availability of testing and exam rooms for patients.
* Assist with prescription pre-authorizations.
* Maintain proficiency on all medical equipment, including OCT, IOL master, Visual Field machine, and Pentacam.
* Manage and document into EHR system all direct calls received from patients and all calls transferred from front office regarding medical eye emergencies, clinical questions, and prescription refills, consulting with doctors or other appropriate staff, when needed, to coordinate patient care following established EHR policies.
* Coordinate patient care with doctors and other staff members when scheduling in-office surgical procedures, future office visits, or authorizations for services.
* Assist front office with clerical duties, when needed.
* Comply with all HIPAA, PHI, and Company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
