Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Austin, TX - Hybrid following training
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Pay: $50 - $65/hr DOE
Contract: Through December 31, 2023, with the possibility of being extended

An industry leading grocer is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support key corporate planning responsibilities. The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Corporate Planning team through the forecasting process, executive business review and collaboration with parent company finance partners. This role will work multiple departments and divisions within the organization. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to engage in debated topics.  Senior Financial Analysts develop financial analysis that contributes to the success and profitability of the company and build thoughtful processes and automation to deliver better efficiencies and quality of results.

Responsibilities:

  • Build partnerships with the business to ensure an effective support model while still challenging business partner assumptions when necessary.
    • Uphold program goals and mission of the global finance team when interacting with various business partners.  May act as lead of working groups and provide guidance, coordination, review and insight.
    • Review financial targets for appropriate business partners and identify potential gaps and required updates.
    • Deliver communication with our parent company peers to convey forecast updates and provide commentary on bridged items.
    • Train peers on financial disciplines, specifically as they relate to financial reporting and analysis.
    • Recognize cross-functional partnership opportunities and seeks to build global relationships.
  • Partner with Merch Finance and Operational Finance to understand targeting assumptions and forecasting methodology, identify process improvements and propose solutions for change management needs.
    • Identify business processes to support forecast processes, including partnering with peer groups to develop, test and implement solutions.
    • Continually improve Accounting & Financial management processes to most effectively meet the organization's growth projections.
  • Leverage superb organizational skills to manage process, documentation and deliverables on time and accurately.
    • Manage forecast calendars including dates, deliverables, communication timelines for business partner and senior leadership reviews, etc.
    • Ensure modelling and load accuracy in coordinating forecast updates with internal and external business partners.
    • Own consolidated forecast guidance, targets, and coordination with analyst team to understand gaps.
    • Create punch list of forecast changes and guidance review checkpoints.
    • Manage consolidation & input of topside and planning contingency initiatives.
    • Anticipate system and change management constraints and build them into forecasting process, financial reporting design, and maintenance plans.
    • Ensure Finance team appropriately updates process and assumption documentation.
  • Communicate financial analysis in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner both verbally and in writing to leadership.
    • Update financial reporting, dashboards and targets based on approved global initiatives and changes in assumptions.
