Leading engineering firm is looking to expand their accounting department and is in search of a collaborative Payroll Specialist. As a Payroll Specialist you will offer personal support, as well as to cross functioning departments, while creatively offering new ways to bring value.
Responsibilities:
*Process semi-monthly payrolls for multiple business lines nationwide
*Process multi-state payroll taxes
*Create reports for monthly income statements, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and for the GL
Coordinate 401(k) contribution changes with plan administrator
*Onboard new employees and maintain employee files in HRIS and accounting software
*Perform payroll verifications and certifications as needed
*Review quarterly and annual tax filings for accuracy
Requirements:
*3 years of experience processing multi-state payroll preferably in an HRIS system
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting
*Advanced data analysis skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
*Knowledge of general accounting principles
Salary: $75k-$80K DOE
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm , Hybrid (3 days in office after training)
