Position Overview:

The Material Handler II plays a key role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor. This position is responsible for various tasks related to order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle orders efficiently, utilize inventory management software and barcode systems effectively, and adhere to standard operating procedures consistently.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Order Picking (25%)

    • Accurately assign orders to boxes for shipment using a barcode scanner.
    • Select correct item numbers and quantities based on the pick list.
  2. Order Packing (25%)

    • Use a barcode scanner to ensure accurate packing of orders.
    • Pack products securely in appropriately sized boxes.
    • Prepare and pack cold shipments using ice products and proper containers.
  3. Order Shipping (25%)

    • Prepare shipments using FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip software.
  4. Inventory Management (20%)

    • Manually stock inventory and manage inventory using the Great Plains software.
    • Conduct inventory inquiries and bin transfers in the Great Plains system.
  5. Other Duties (5%)

    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong comprehension of written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills for solving common operational problems.
  • Keen attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication, both internally and with external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and Email software.
