Advanced Imaging Patient Care Coordinator

Specifically looking for someone who has experience scheduling for an Imaging department/team/group.

Position will be an onsite role.
Resource will be heavily Focused on Scheduling for the Imaging Department
Client is looking for someone with imaging scheduling experience vs general or other specialized scheduling experience.

Position Summary:
Acts as liaison for the patient, family, referring physician, and Department of Imaging Services during the entire Imaging process. Duties include: Reception and registration, patient and family education, ensuring appropriate pre-authorizations and referrals are obtained, schedules and communicates additional procedures based on outcomes, captures data and reports to appropriate venues.

Essential Functions:
Coordinates
Optimizes facility and professional duties necessary to support Imaging Services Department for all services provided.

Tasks:
Acts as the point of contact for Imaging patients, their family, referring physicians, and the Imaging Services department. Provides patient education pertaining to the appropriate studies scheduled. Schedules patients in all modalities as appropriate and makes updates as necessary. Reviews schedule with operational team to communicate changes as needed.

Ensures lab/diagnostics/anesthesia/bloodwork that is needed is communicated.

Communicates with physician offices and or the patient to obtain physician order, to include appropriate procedure and diagnosis codes that ensures patient schedules are accurate.

Obtains referrals for advanced imaging studies/procedures, as well as assist with education of payers. Obtains letters of medical necessity communicating with patient and referring physicians as needed.

Places, receives and screens telephone calls; determines nature of call and provides general information, referring more complex calls to other team members as necessary.

Quality/Customer Service
Develops effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, and physicians and ensures that all customers receive exemplary service.

Maintains patient confidentiality; respects the privacy and needs of all patients; continually demonstrates actions that indicate an understanding of the Patient's Rights and HIPPA Laws and Regulations.

Recognizes everyone, including patients, visitors, and co-workers as custom
