Job Description

HR Director

100% Onsite

Responsibilities...

  • Ensure organizational policies and procedures are maintained.
  • Implement policies and procedures, including annual revisions of the company handbook.
  • Update Intranet HR communications and policies.
  • Advising company managers on Human Resources
  • Responsible for HR issues, wage and hour claims, and wrongful terminations.
  • Investigate allegations of discrimination, harassment, and employee relations in collaboration with HR
  • Maintains compliance with Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws
  • Data-driven HR metrics for decision-making.
  • Assist HR with all government reporting requirements, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Department of Labor, worker compensation, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Reduces lawsuit exposure.
  • ACA compliance. Keep track of 1094/1095C reporting and L226J letters
  • Make sure state and city sick time and minimum wage ordinances are followed.
  • Multi-jurisdictional payroll knowledge.
  • Continue your HR education. Join HR forums and websites to stay on top of changing laws.
  • Attend Manager Meetings, covering HR changes, training, and upcoming laws.
  • Conduct all WC audits. Work with PR to ensure the audit is accurate.
  • 401(k) plan administration - Census generation, main point of contact for audits, 5500 filings, employee notices
  • Coordinate training for all employees, including AB 1825 (Harassment) and AB 2053 (Abuse of Power).
  • Oversees the preparation and maintenance of departmental reports. Prepares periodic reports for management whenever necessary.

Experience...

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or organizational development is required
  • A master's degree in business or human resources
  • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP certifications
  • 5-10 years' of progressive HR leadership experience
  • Human Resources experience in retail with corporate experience preferred

Abilities and Skills…

  • ADP experience required
  • An understanding of California employment laws is a must
  • Provides expertise and knowledge to the executive management team
