Payroll Specialist

Position Summary: The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. They collaborate with team members to handle day-to-day, monthly, and year-end payroll operations. If you're detail-oriented, skilled in data compilation, and have experience with multi-state payroll, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for multiple states, adhering to strict deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Utilize strong oral and written communication skills to interact with employees and address payroll-related inquiries.
  • Gather and compile data from various sources to prepare accurate payroll reports.
  • Proficiency in Work Force Go and Excel is preferred.
  • Be a proactive problem solver, meeting deadlines even in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Collaborate with personnel across all levels within the company.
  • Familiarity with union payroll, including union team members, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of payroll policies (including holiday, vacation, and overtime) is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, human resources, or a related field.
  • Strong computing skills, including proficiency in payroll software, Excel, and other accounting tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information.
