Ultimate Staffing has partnered with a well-know global power organization that is growing and seeking a Quality Manager. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for providing quality oversite and support for industrial jet engine power turbine programs. The selected Quality Manager will work with executive management, engineering, procurement, and other cross-functional organizations to drive the business and its suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals. The Quality Manager oversees the development, implementation, control, and distribution of all quality practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics. The Quality Manager ensures that the ISO 9001 compliant quality management system requirements are implemented and documented within the organization.

What's needed for this role?

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of Quality Engineers to assure the following activities are executed in a timely manner and per the required standards:

· First article inspections.

· Supplier source inspections

· Supplier system audits and process compliance assessments

· Special process assessments such as, NDT, Heat Treat, Coating, Brazing, Welding, etc.

· Engineering Source Approvals (ESA)

· Supplier quality assurance oversight

· Develop, manage, present, and distribute quality metrics: NCM, supplier performance, escapes, etc.

  • Monthly Program Reviews
  • Quality Management Meetings/Operation Meetings

· Review/modify quality requirements for supplier purchase order as required.

· Generate new process specifications, procedures, and process audit checklists.

· Implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions

· Manage supplier and customer escapes.

· Manage supplier nonconformances/deviations.

Special Skills:

· The Quality Manager must also be a highly adaptable effective team player with the ability to develop, lead, and sustain change activities.

· The selected Quality Manager must be self-motivated with excellent communication, leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments.

· The Quality Manager will be required to provide quality leadership and quality technical support within the value streams for both programs.

· Proficient with Excel, database management and SAP

  1. The position requires knowledge and experience in project management. Leadership skills are required to lead cross-functional and cross-regional teams to successfully define & deliver projects in accordance with established budgets, work-plans, quality standards, and time frames.
  2. Strong analytical skills and process engineering knowledge. The position requires broad business understanding, strong conceptual and strategic thinking to support continuous improvement approaches.
  3. Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
  4. The ability to travel domestically and internationally is required to support supplier development, investigation initiatives and customer site support up to 10%.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or related discipline required, MBA preferred.
  • 10 - 12 years experience in the area of Quality Management.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is desired.

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney Quality and Design specifications
  • Airfoil casting experience is preferr
