Title: Lab Associate

Location: onsite:

Shift: Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm

Hourly rate: $22/hr

Start date: 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance

Great opportunity if you recently graduated with your Bachelor's degree in a related field (Biology, Chemistry, Science, etc.)

Job duties:

1. Follow all procedures and protocols pertaining to patient sample processing, pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing and general laboratory system that do not directly involve the manipulation of patient samples or products generated from patient samples.

2. Adhere to all Quality regulations (CAP, CLIA & New York State) and ensure all training and competency forms are complete.

3. Perform biological specimen patient preparation, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of specimens.

4. Transcription of results that have been previously recorded automatically by a testing instrument.

5. Maintain laboratory safety by ensuring work area is safe and clean prior to work and after work and noting hazardous problems for prompt and proper repair.

6. Assist in pulling and filing primers, reagents and samples for trainees and licensed techs without manipulating the samples or compromising their integrity.

7. Assisting with any clerical duties that may be assigned by Lab Management.
