The Facilities Supervisor is a hands-on position that manages and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in maintaining the physical plant. This position is also responsible to oversee scheduling necessary for the facility maintenance team repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee site staff to ensure facility compliance with Cal-OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring of time and materials, scheduling and tracking of all facilities related issues and repairs. Oversight of all tools, repair, maintenance and special project analysis.
Track and report status of open projects.
Identify & isolate larger problems, meet with contractors, obtain quotes and work with PO's.
Maintain accurate records regarding maintenance, service requests, and project status.
Help manage vendor support and equipment relationships and PM schedules.
Provide monitoring, auditing and enforcement of maintenance execution, safe work practices.
Coordinate Facilities Department with their daily operations in the San Jose facility.
Coordinate completion of approved maintenance through creation and delegation of maintenance activities.
Maintain positive working relationships with third-party vendors.
Maintain third-party vendor for janitorial services and pest control.
Build and maintain positive business relationships and open lines of communications with all internal support teams.
Provide positive and strong leadership, coaching and mentoring for employees. Monitor performance and results.
Evaluate and implement facility needs prior to the onboarding of new equipment.
Skills & Qualifications
Working knowledge of basic facility infrastructure, electrical systems, plumbing repair, HVAC repair, painting, cleanrooms, industrial air compressors, vacuum pumps and carpentry skills.
Strong technical computer skills required on all forms of hardware - laptops, tablets and mobile devices is required.
In-depth knowledge of the Faciliworks program is highly valued.
Professional in all forms of communications such as email, phone calls, video calls and texts.
The ability to change activities as needed and cope with interruptions.
Strong attention to detail with facility record management and scheduling of PM.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Self-starter. Strong evidence of driving goals with minimal day-to-day supervision.
5+ years of previous facilities experience with team leading skills is preferred.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills, expert in communication, writing, and documentation abilities; as well as strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize wisely.
Excellent technical writing skills including SOPs, maintenance procedures and routine reports.
Expertise interpreting technical documents such as blue prints, schematics, logic flow charts, operating and maintenance manuals.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Basic familiarity with environmental health and safety practices and the ability to provide support with EHS initiatives as needed.
Strong background with maintaining Cal-OSHA safety standards.
Availability to work overtime as needed.
Occasional use of the company vehicle for supply runs may be needed. Verification of driving record required. (need to discuss with US Agency)
