Job Description

Ultimate Staffing has an opening for an HR Generalist. The Human Resource Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs.

· Perform bi-weekly payroll using Paycom

· Accurately calculate and enter amounts to pay educators based on work duration in time for payroll

· Prepare and analyze bi-weekly payroll reports for Accounting

· Look for opportunities to enhance, streamline, and make the payroll process more efficient

· Manage garnishments and communicate with third-party entities as necessary

· Manage ongoing stipends to staff and prepare documentation to track payments

· Collect and accurately enter salary information for annual benchmarking survey

· Audit 403(b) employee and employer contributions and adjust as necessary following the guidelines

· Submit employee and employer 403(b) contributions in a timely manner

· Act as point person for annual non-discrimination testing

· Compile Worker's Compensation data for annual audit

· Act as primary processor for annual salary statement preparation and delivery to all


· Calculate each area of responsibility and enter into Paycom for processing per individual

· Communicate effectively confidential translation services in the Business Office if Spanish is a skillset brought to the job

· Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.

· Includes safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications

· Document, update and post job listings

· Collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings

· Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of job applicants for open positions

· Onboard new employees

· Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs

· Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to:

o compensation, benefits, and leave

o disciplinary matters

o disputes and investigations

o performance and talent management

o productivity, recognition, and morale

o occupational health and safety

o training and development

· Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff

· Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed

· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance

· EDD, FMLA, CFRA, SDI, PFL leave information

· FLSA, DOL, CA labor law and other requirements

· Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

· Ensure all compensation and related information is held with the highest level of confidentiality

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of employment law, state of CA and federal compliance requirements, workers compensation, employee leaves, payroll processing, compensation management

· Experience running payroll for 200+ employees

· Experience with educational field or in a school environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to express oneself clearly, concisely
