Event Specialist

Location: San Diego, CA 92131

Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm M-F

Full-time, onsite

temporary 6+ months

24$+/hr

In this role you will assist in the design and production of planned marketing programs which may also include other conference management support for different divisions - all by performing the following duties personally.

Job Responsibilities:

    Lead and/or support the planning and execution of internal and external customer events, including conferences, webinars,and users group meetingsDevelop and execute marketing communications strategies and supporting project plansResearch, write copy and edit both print and electronic communications for internal teams (e.g., sales, existing accounts, clinical) and external stakeholders (e.g., prospects, clients, and members)Including, but not limited to presentations, supplemental materials, campaigns, press releases, newsletters, white papers, and industry journal articlesCoordinate work of outside vendors and consultants retained to execute projects (e.g., meeting planner, outside agency, freelance writer)Assist in establishing strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and servicesDevelop and execute marketing programs to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue, profitability, and market shareManage projects within budgetAssist in the execution of promotional activities, including print, electronic media, benefit fairs, trade show, direct mail, and signageNegotiate contract terms with outside agencies and suppliersManage the development, production, and distribution of promotional and collateral materials to support sales and marketing programsHelp analyze marketing programs and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectivenessReview and approve the use of internal and external mailing listsReview and provide analysis of marketing surveysProvide post-event reports, analysis, and regular status reports on marketing programsHelp plan, promote, and execute sales meetings and other eventsHelp establish and maintain consistent corporate image throughout product lines, promotional materials, and eventsProvide full backup support of other business segments as needed and/or assigned

Education and/or Experience

For consideration candidates will need:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university required in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field of study; or two to ten years' related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office / Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
