Job Description

We are searching for a contract Port Warranty Claims Analyst role that oversees Port & PDC quality claims, managing financial settlements and payments for warranty claims within the Department. It involves assisting in identifying product quality issues, preparing and handling monthly, quarterly, and annual warranty claim analysis reports, and adapting warranty policies according to departmental guidelines and financial expectations for suppliers on accessory launches.

Location: Fountain Valley, CA

Pay: $35-$38 an hour

Assessments Required: Access and Advanced Excel


  1. Financial Oversight: Review, analyze, and coordinate financial settlements for Port/PDC quality claims with HQ, Local suppliers, and affiliates. Collaborate internally with Finance, Accessory Purchasing, and Accessory QA for supplier obligations and financial exposure.
  2. Quality Management: Monitor, expedite, and resolve Port/PDC defective claims as part of Warranty's quality management efforts. Coordinate with internal groups like QA Engineers, Accessory Purchasing, or Finance. Establish, enforce, or adjust policies for better claim resolution.
  3. Part Analysis & Recovery: Monitor warranty defect rates and financial targets for planned accessories. Alert QA Engineers on warranty issues related to quality from Port/PDC or field claim submissions. Ensure adherence to the annual expenditure budget.
  4. Reporting: Create reports defining program risk and financial exposure on a monthly, quarterly, annual, or ad-hoc basis. Analyze product defect trends or quality events to meet customer expectations.
  5. Project Management: Lead system projects to improve processing or analysis of Port/PDC defect claims within the AMOS claim system. Coordinate with the Systems Department for new AMOS projects.

Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Review all Port/PDC quality claims in the AMOS claim system.
  2. Generate reports for financial resolution on a regular basis.
  3. Communicate with suppliers on quality or inventory claims for cost or recovery.
  4. Attend warranty meetings with customers, group affiliates, Local suppliers, or HQ.
  5. Coordinate settlements and payments according to established recovery goals.
  6. Assist in quality investigation and resolution with Accessory QA/WAR and HQ warranty team members.


  • Bachelors is required.
  • Degree in Finance, Statistics are a plus.

Experience Requirements

  • 4-6 years of directly related professional level cost control, warranty analysis experience preferably in automobile industry (Supplier or OEM).
  • Knowledge of automotive warranty system and risk management in manufacturing, dealer environment, claims processing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret warranty reports.
  • Advanced knowledge of work processor, spreadsheet, Access or programming language related to creation of scalable database applications


  • Proficient computer skills: e-mail, record keeping, routine database, word processing, spreadsheets
  • Define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
