Job Title: Resident Coordinator / Motel Classification: Non-Exempt / Full-Time / Temporary

Reports to: Operations Manager

OVERVIEW: Local non-profit that assist it's communities to address the needs of low-income, homeless and under-served people in North San Diego County.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure living environment for clients at our Transitional and Permanent Housing and Shelter Communities and Programs on-site and off-site hotel/motel. Working alongside a comprehensive team of skilled professionals, the Resident Coordinator engages with case managers and behavioral health clinicians to get the client back to self-sufficiency.

Shelter Responsibilities
*   Maintain a safe and secure living environment for clients (drug, alcohol, violence free)
*   Acclimate new clients to their living arrangements; assist with client exits
*   Educate clients of all program policies and procedures; enforce program policies and procedures
*   Monitor client affairs and help to resolve any issue that may arise
*   Promptly notify supervisor (as well as other appropriate staff) of any problematic client behaviors, compliance issues, or any other problems that arise
*   Review log book daily and update next shift of any notable issues
*   Accurately record all emergency, disciplinary, and other events that occur during scheduled shift
*   Immediately report medical emergencies to the appropriate agencies/organizations; administer First Aid/CPR and follow agency protocol and standard procedures in emergency situations
*   Perform wellness checks on residents as needed or required
*   Participate in all staff meetings and trainings
*   Work with other Resident Coordinators to maintain cohesiveness of community
*   Ensure that properties meet standards to pass Federal, State and Local inspections
*   Coordinate utilities checks, fire drills and other checks/repairs as needed or required to maintain facility compliance with Federal, State and Local inspections
Hotel/Motel Responsibilities
*   Check-in with Clients/Security - overnight/morning updates, issues, etc.
*   Door knocks - Check-in w/ residents. Reminding them of rule compliance, as needed
*   Monitor client affairs and help to resolve any issue that may arise
*   Promptly notify supervisor (as well as other appropriate staff) of any problematic client behaviors, compliance issues, or any other problems that arise
*   Immediately report medical emergencies to the appropriate agencies/organizations
*   Document interactions with clients using the roster print out
*   Writing Pass-down (client's needs, compliance, health issues, etc.)


*   Collaborate with Hotel Coordinator
*   Perform additional duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
*   High School Diploma or equivalent required
*   1+ years of experience working in a shelter or social services setting preferred
*   Experience working with severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations preferred
*   Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
*   Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Certification preferred

SKILLSETS / ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
*   Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients
*   Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
*   Must be highly organized and demonstrate attention to detail
*   Demonstrated  experience  managing  multiple  deadlines  and  working  effectively  under pressure, using independent judgment to produce quality work under time constraints
*   Demonstrated experience working with a collaborative team
*   Working Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
*   Ability to communicate effectively among  a diverse workforce popul
