We are currently looking for a Prepress Graphic Designer to join our amazing clients in Natomas, CA.

*This position would require experience with Prepress experience

Salary: $52,000 to $58,000, DOE


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Prepress Print Production Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, with specialized experience in prepress processes and print production. This role requires a deep understanding of print technologies, file preparation, and troubleshooting to ensure that all designs translate effectively and efficiently from digital to print.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepress Technical Expertise: Prepare and format documents for print production, ensuring files meet technical specifications. This includes color management, image optimization, and layout adjustments.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the design and production teams to understand project requirements, providing expertise on print feasibility and suggesting modifications to enhance printability.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough preflight checks to identify and fix issues related to document setup, including font usage, image resolution, and color spaces, ensuring all files are print-ready.
  • File Management: Organize and maintain a library of print-ready files, templates, and assets, ensuring they are accessible and up to date.
  • Innovation and Optimization: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in print production and prepress, recommending improvements to workflows and processes.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients or internal stakeholders to gather project requirements and provide updates on production status, including proof approvals and print samples.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on prepress and print production processes.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with a strong understanding of prepress tools and plugins.
  • Knowledge of print production techniques, materials, and finishing processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
