Our client is proud to celebrate 65 years as a leader in providing service to the Pacific Northwest. Locally and family owned, with 8 branches in Oregon and Washington.

The Safety Manager will be based in the corporate office, and travel within Washington and Oregon is required. Overall responsibilities include compliance with State and Federal driver requirements and oversight and implementation of safety protocols company-wide to ensure a secure work environment for all employees and customers.

Job Title - Safety Manager

Compensation - $73K-$82K DOE

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Conducting safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards

* Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures

* Providing safety training to employees.

* Ability to develop, present and teach training programs and/or workshops.

* Investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.

* Collaborating with management to address safety concerns and ensure compliance

* Maintaining records of safety training, incidents, and compliance activities

* Maintains driver files and records, including but not limited to random drug screens, license upgrades, monitoring valid documentation, etc.

* Create and maintain relationships with local driving schools, trucking associations and other relevant organizations to help identify potential driver candidates.

* Coordinate with management team to ensure driver needs are met, develop and implement driver recruitment strategies to meet company hiring goals.

Requirements

* Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in a supervisory or management position, minimum three years experience as a driver with Class A license

* Prior experience as a safety manager preferred.

* In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations and compliance.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in report writing for documenting safety procedures and incidents.

* Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.

* Familiarity with workers compensation laws and processes, and OSHA regulations and processes.

* Ability to conduct root cause analysis for identifying underlying factors contributing to accidents or near misses.

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

* Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and personalities.
