The Buyer/Planner is responsible for performing all daily activities regarding material planning, placing purchase orders and releasing material to support production plan. Monitor and assist in inventory transactions and cycle counting.
Computer/PC Literacy. Specifically Microsoft Office products
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic business writing and math skill
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
Plan and release purchased materials to support production schedule/s
Manage open purchase orders within assigned supplier base
Address problems quickly and thoroughly
Effectively manage rejected materials for return and/or replacement
Prepare shop orders as required
Release orders to production as required
Ensure system transactions are completed accurately and timely
Identify areas to improve Safety, Quality and Productivity
Aware and knowledgeable of Company Quality Policy
Provide backup for Customer Service as needed
Has the authority to stop or refuse any material of poor or suspect quality
Has the authority to stop production if an unsafe condition exists
