Ultimate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanic for our Food Manufacturing client located in Fresno. This is a full-time opportunity and is paying $13-$18/hr depending on experience!

Job Summary:
Taking direction from the Maintenance Manager, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements included in SQF  including Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, and GMP's as well as meets all company corporate requirements related to quality and food safety programs.  Employee is responsible to report Food Safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Maintains a good attendance record to ensure that there is no interruption to production or services to our customers.
  • Works safely in accordance with company's safety program requirements.
  • Wears all required personal protective equipment
  • Inspects systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Plans, builds and installs motor control panel stations.
  • Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Inspects, form, and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Grease, clean, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and be able to change motors on assigned production line.
  • Be able to communicate in English, by reading, speaking and writing.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and maintain shop clean of hazards.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalency and have a minimum of four (4) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or specialized training
