Manufacturing-Facilities Engineer

Job Description

Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Operations (or COO), this role at an undisclosed company will play a pivotal role in providing technical support for manufacturing projects, including new equipment validations and infrastructure initiatives. The incumbent will supervise the Facilities Manager and contractors involved in facility upgrades, ensuring seamless operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Purchasing to issue and approve POs for facilities maintenance.
- Oversee contractor work on facility projects.
- Maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration, AC, air compressor, boiler, and auxiliary generator systems.
- Support capital projects to enhance facility infrastructure.
- Assist in manufacturing projects, new equipment implementation, and process enhancements.
- Address manufacturing issues promptly to minimize downtime and uphold product quality.
- Develop procedures and studies for production equipment evaluation and validation.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
- Establish a spares program for critical manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with medical device regulations, including ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.
- Create and maintain Facilities SOPs to support the company's Quality Management System.
- Lead the Safety Team and manage compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to maintain fire alarm and security systems.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated industry and working with validation processes would be advantageous.
