Job Description

We're seeking a dependable Associate Engineer I to contribute to project office operations, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications in Austin, Texas. Responsibilities include prioritizing field tasks, supervising staff, and assisting the Project Manager. With a focus on highway construction, you'll apply engineering principles, conduct materials testing, and liaise with clients.

Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in related field4+ years' transportation engineering experience with one (1) year experience in construction QC/QA.P.E. License in applicable state or eligibility within 6 months of hire date

Overview:

Under general supervision, assists in directing project office operations including construction inspection and material testing operations to ensure compliance with project plans, approved shop/working drawings, and specifications. Responsible for Project Office in the absence of the Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prioritize field tasks and deadlines.
  • Supervise staff and schedule work.
  • Assist with performance evaluations.
  • Support Project Manager with resource planning.
  • Apply engineering principles for compliance.
  • Conduct research and problem-solving.
  • Provide on-the-job training.
  • Prepare, review, and approve reports.
  • Ensure construction compliance through material testing.
  • Liaise with clients on project matters.
  • Maintain document and tool safety.
  • Update supervisors on task progress.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Meet project deadlines.
  • Submit accurate daily reports.
  • Review plans and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
