An Engineering Consulting and Program Management firm seeks an Associate Engineer I for its Infrastructure team in Austin, TX. Responsibilities include overseeing construction inspection and material testing operations, ensuring compliance with project plans, and managing project offices. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, four years of transportation engineering experience, and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Physical requirements include standing, walking, and lifting up to 70 pounds. Potential exposure to hazardous materials necessitates adherence to safety procedures. Job Duties

Seeking a dependable Associate Engineer I to join the Infrastructure team in the Austin, TX area. Under general supervision, assists in directing project office operations including construction inspection and material testing operations to ensure compliance with project plans, approved shop/working drawings, and specifications. Responsibilities include:

- Contacting supervisor for priorities and deadlines in the field.
- Planning, scheduling, and supervising work of assigned staff.
- Writing or assisting with performance evaluations.
- Assisting Project Manager in projecting personnel and equipment needed for the Project.
- Applying engineering principles, methods, and techniques to assure highway and related facility construction.
- Performing engineering calculations.
- Performing research and problem-solving of engineering-related activities.
- Providing on-the-job training for construction personnel.
- Preparing, reviewing, and/or approving reports.
- Observing, measuring, and conducting tests of materials to determine construction compliance with the project plans, approved shop/working drawings, and governing specifications.
- Working with the client, or representatives, on behalf of the Project Manager.
- Ensuring the safe utilization, storage, and maintenance of all documents and tools.
- Updating Direct Report on progress and delays on every task or assignment.
- Ensuring safe usage and maintenance of individually assigned company vehicle and field equipment.
- Meeting established project deadlines.
- Submitting accurate, legible, comprehensive, and complete testing and/or inspection reports on a daily basis in accordance with project Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) Plan.
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and shop/working drawings for project activities.
- Resolving differences in the interpretation of plans and specifications.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
